For any family in which there are children, it is considered the norm to take the child to kindergarten or school, go with the kids for a suburban walk or just throw a familiar mother with the baby. But many drivers forget about what responsibility they have during the presence of the baby in the car. Caring for comfort and security is the main task of the parents who transport the child in the car.
According to the European Road Convention, “children under the age of twelve should be transported in special chairs that are fixed in the rear seat”. Sale of such seats is carried out in children’s departments and in special automobile stores.
Chairs are of different types depending on the age and weight of the child, as well as the material and fixing belts. There are three types of car seats:
For a child weighing up to nine kilograms (equipped with a handle for transfer, headrest and lateral protection)
For a child weighing from nine to fifteen kilograms (equipped with five -point belts and shoulder linings)
For a child weighing more than fifteen kilograms (equipped with moving armrests and headrests)
Also produced by universal models that are designed to vibrate weight. Such a chair can save money, but it is safer to transport the child in a chair that is designed for the corresponding weight.
When buying a car chair, you should pay attention to the marking. If the letters are there, then this means that the chair complies with European standards, and in the model it is equipped with all security systems and meets environmental standards. Decide in advance where you are going to store the chair. If you do not plan to carry it with you all the time, then make sure that this model is folding and easily fits in the trunk. Check if the chair you have chosen is suitable for the dimensions of your car.
